* café da manhã means breakfast in Brasilian Portuguese, although it is to assume that not all brasilians drink coffee for breakfast. In European Portuguese it is pequeno-almoço as in French, petit déjeuner, little lunch. Presumably that has to do with the importance of coffee for the Brasilian economy in former times.
