10.7.2.Quais with prepositions

Following the standard grammar, or normative grammar, after polysyllabic prepositions the relative pronoun ist article + qual / quais and after monosyllabic prepostions que being sob and sem an exception to this rule. This actual use doesn't comply always with this basic rule and we can find easily examples where monosyllabic prepositions like a or por are followed by article + qual / quais. The staggering use can perhaps be explained by the fact that some prepositions like por become polysyllabic when followed by an article. However in the following examples we pretend that the basic rules are always valid.
